A New 'Encanto'-Inspired Disney Vacation to Colombia Is on the Way in 2024!

In 2024, Disney will launch three new Adventures by Disney itineraries, one of which will be a unique journey to Colombia based on the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios picture "Encanto." Join us on this "set-jetting" adventure through Colombia's breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cultures to see the real-life setting of the film. 

Guided tours of Bogota, a coffee farm visit, an arepa-making lesson, lively Cartagena, trekking through a dry forest, and snorkeling among the Rosario Islands are all on the itinerary for the seven-night, eight-day trip. A signed lithograph depicting the visual development art of "Encanto" will also be provided to guests traveling on the inaugural Adventures by Disney Colombia season.

"We are thrilled and touched that so many people have felt seen by the Madrigals' story and now have this opportunity to experience its magic for themselves," stated "Encanto" directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure. The directors continued, "Our hope was always that 'Encanto' could celebrate just some of the many different people and cultures we experienced in Colombia." 

The ideal excursion to immerse families in the culture and the atmosphere of "Encanto" was crafted by lead trip creator Chantel Pevey, who traveled to Colombia. 

"Guests might be lucky to spot some of the amazing wildlife and tropical plants that were inspired by the second most biodiverse country in the world - when they see inside the character Antonio's room," she told T+L. The Madrigal family home is a meticulous portrayal of the vibrant architecture that visitors can discover in Cartagena and the Coffee Region. And the beats that sparked a song that had everyone singing along; visitors to the Colombian town may even feel the urge to get up and dance as they explore the historic cobblestone streets! "We hope that fans of the film 'Encanto' are inspired to'set-jet' to Colombia and see just how magical a place it truly is." 

Guests on Disney's eight-day Atlantic Coast and Maritime Provinces vacation will have the chance to see a maple syrup farm in Nova Scotia, immerse themselves in Indigenous culture at the Millbrook Cultural Heritage Centre, and take in breathtaking vistas while enjoying water sports and other outdoor activities. On a 12-day vacation to New Zealand, you may see the country's stunning landscapes, quaint villages, and exciting cities with an improved itinerary. 

Over 40 itineraries (including river cruises, land tours, and adventure cruises) are available on all seven continents through Adventures by Disney for guided group visits to destinations worldwide.
