Guests are invited to a new holistic experience at Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection, which opened its doors on November 16.
On 180 acres of verdant terrain in Costa Rica's Talamanca Mountains, the brand new Hacienda AltaGracia provides guests with an opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in exchange for "soul-stirring wellness and unbridled adventure."
"Hacienda AltaGracia will be a place where guests can move fast or slow, explore the destination and their inner selves, and connect with our community while reconnecting with their loved ones," Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection general manager Mark Wright shared with Travel & Leisure in a statement. For some, it's a meditative practice; for others, it's an exciting journey; and for still others, it's a mix of the two. Discover a haven where your mind, body, and spirit can undergo a complete metamorphosis at AltaGracia.
Thanks to a collaboration with the premier New York City wellness provider, The Well, the 50-suite resort will provide visitors the option to try both Eastern and Western therapies. Complementing all of this are gourmet adventures that feature the finest Latin American cuisine from the area's most renowned producers.
A complimentary virtual health coaching appointment kicks off the wellness journey before you ever arrive. Guests will meet with coaches from The Well to discuss their health history and aspirations, allowing the professionals to create a personalized experience. Casa de Agua, a glass-enclosed sanctuary, is where guests can continue their wellness journey with rituals of cleansing and relaxation utilizing loofahs, oils, and Costa Rican clays derived from plants. Take advantage of AltaGracia's activities, such as jungle treks, river baths, horseback riding, and botanical yoga, to elevate your visit to the next level. Healing via nature is the central theme of the daily programs and carefully selected excursions.
A variety of treatments are offered in eight rooms, including craniosacral facials, light therapy, lymph boots, infrared cabins, and the characteristic maderoterapia. The Casa de Agua fitness center also offers guests the opportunity to meditate and participate in movement programs. In addition to a healing garden and the approximately 700-pound crystal at The Well Crystal Rancho, the property is designed to immerse guests in the natural environs.
There is a lot of excitement to be obtained in addition to wellness treatments. A personal "Compas," or liaison and experience designer, will be assigned to each guest for the duration of their stay. During their itineraries, guests can choose from a variety of activities, such as horseback riding to the nearby farm of Don Nery, naturalist talks, nighttime treks acco
After a day of treatments and excursions, guests may relax with a healthy meal at one of the five restaurants on site. Each restaurant has a unique focus on sustainability and uses ingredients from the surrounding area.
According to a hotel representative, the husband-and-wife cooking duo Arno Janse van Rensburg and Liezl Odendaal "prioritize authenticity, exploration, and community" by collaborating closely with nearby farmers and suppliers. "With a focus on flavors unique to the valley, they draw on ancestral cooking and preservation techniques and the bounty of El Cultivo, the chef's organic garden."
At the resort, guests have the option to dine at Grano, the signature restaurant, Cienfuegos, an on-site bakery and cafe with a barbecue and rodeo theme, Mercado, for sweet treats, or Picoteo, an outdoor restaurant perfect for families. Las Brisas is another choice for those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere with an enhanced cuisine and a rancho bar for cocktails.
Nina Gotlieb, a designer based in New York, dressed up the casitas with natural fabrics and warm, neutral tones to bring more of the outside world in, so guests can relax in style.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary night when they stay five nights or longer as part of an exclusive opening offer. They can also take advantage of AltaGracia's holistic rate, which covers all meals and non-alcoholic beverages, daily activities, ground transfers, and a dedicated Compa. Check out the hotel's website for more details and to make a reservation.
