For the pinnacle of personal transformation, visit Peru's Sacred Valley. Almost everyone can find solace there, and the aura of the otherworldly is tangible. And now, there's an ideal place to stay that can rival this picture-perfect mood.

Opening in early February, the StarDome Peru will provide six luxurious suites to guests looking for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience.

The boutique hotel, which has a unique geodesic dome and is situated between Cusco and Machu Picchu, was co-founded and is run by the local Indigenous Quechua people. The program's stated goal is to connect tourists with locals so that they can participate in life-altering, culturally immersive adventures.

Another co-founder of StarDome Peru is Bob Berman, a former Toronto lawyer and creator of Soul 7, a state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in that city. Berman went to the Sacred Valley on a spiritual journey after the terrible death of his 38-year-wife to cancer.

A native Quechua shaman named Carlos Gibaja introduced Berman to the area's enchanted powers. The land, its people, and their spirit captivated Berman immediately. Gibaja showed him a piece of land that had been in his family for generations after he asked where he could maybe buy some land.

A spokeswoman for StarDome revealed with Travel + Leisure that "Berman] was able to find healing and the inspiration to offer people the same opportunity" through the local community and Carlos's shamanic teachings. "With Gibaja's knowledge of construction and architecture, as well as the local community all coming together, Berman's personal home was transformed into StarDome, with a focus on celebrating Indigenous roots, honoring cultural traditions and beliefs, and connecting travelers with the energies that radiate through the Andes mountains."

Additionally, StarDome Peru now only hires native Peruvians, cultivates land for local food production, and donates a portion of its earnings to educational programs.

The spokeswoman says that the dome is the pinnacle of "rugged luxury," and that inside, visitors may relax on heated marble floors and use handmade ceramics in their baths while taking in breathtaking views of the natural environment.

On the lower level of the dome you'll find five apartments, while on the upper level you'll find the immersive StarDeck with floor-to-ceiling windows and a telescope to gaze at the stars. The Royal Apu Suite, which stands alone and provides the finest views and total seclusion, is an additional option beyond the five suites.

Apu, the StarDome's specialty restaurant, offers complimentary traditional breakfasts with every suite reservation. Guests can also enjoy private dinners prepared by talented Peruvian chefs, a great way to learn about the country's rich culinary history.

Beginning on February 1, 2022, StarDome Peru will begin taking reservations. You can arrange a nightly stay or an all-inclusive customized retreat package that includes transportation, meals, lodging, and curated events for three to six days. In addition to natural tours to popular sites like Machu Picchu, guests can take part in healing rites and experiences with plant medicines.
